Touch Designer- Landscape Sketch

Day 2


This is part of a series of improving my digital skills. The goal is to follow tutorials and post my progress here. I will use various tools including, but not limited to, Houdini, Touch Designer, Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Blender, After Effects, and even Photoshop character and environment concepts.


In this sketch, I explore Touch Designer pbr and noise network to create a simple landscape using height map displacement. This is based on Noto The Talking Ball tutorials.







Process

Begin with a Grid node and set it up with material and geometry nodes. At this stage, I also set up my camera system, which includes a render, camera, environment lights, lights, and a constant as my environment map.


Adding noise and heightmap.



Adding color lookup.

Adding more dimension and realism.
